Currently the situation continue to decline and become more volatile as the people go longer without the basic necessities of life: food, water and shelter along with medical needs for many.  Haiti is a country of roughly 8 million people and 2 million lived in the Capital until January 12th, when it was nearly completely destroyed by the earthquake.  Now most of those people are headed back to their home towns because there is nothing left for them in the city.  Many of the Mission workers have family missing as well, but they continue to focus on what they can do for their fellow countrymen at the compound.
Aid is arriving but with most disasters of this magnitude it is never quick enough or large enough for the initial response of those in need and on the ground.

Northwest Haiti Christian Mission is working with aid organizations across the country of Haiti to provide relief to victims of the January 12 earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city.
Among the biggest immediate needs in Haiti are medicine and medical supplies. Hospitals around the country are vitally low on even the most basic materials for treating the sick and wounded.

Northwest Haiti Christian Mission has opened a collection center for donated goods at Mount Pleasant Christian Church, Student Ministry Center parking lot (Fairview and Bluff rd.). Collection times are Monday-Saturday 8 A.M. - 11 A.m. And 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. For more information about dropping off donated items, please contact Jenni Mann -  jmann77@comcast.net
